Tanya Vital Talks Future Storytelling at TwitchCon Europe 2025
In June 2025 I hosted a panel at TwitchCon Europe in Rotterdam — Future Storytelling: Gaming, Performance & Twitch — in front of a live and streamed audience of 300+ at the NomNom Theatre.
We covered Vital Stories, my live-action mystery on Twitch where the audience used polls, chat, and mini-games to direct the story in real time. Joe walked us through Game Changers, NYT's XR collaboration with Megaverse built on Amazon IVS. And we pulled in wider examples - Trevor Noah's Fortnite set, VRChat film premieres, GTA RP productions and the Emmy-winning Twitch original Artificial: Next. The panel was streamed live to 300+ viewers and offered a rare look at a genre still being defined.

What's Next
I left Rotterdam more certain than ever that this space — somewhere between theatre, gaming, and live performance — is where the most interesting creative work is happening right now. It doesn't have a proper name yet. That's partly what makes it worth building.
